Street Victims Protection Fund as Compensation Body acts in the interest
of the injured parties as a result of motor vehicle accidents as it is
stipulated in chapter 4 of “FPVS’s prerogatives as Compensation Body” as
part of “ Norms of FPVS” put into force by the Order no. 1/2008 of the
President of the Insurance Supervisory Commission
General Conditions of Intervention as Compensation Body
- for the foreign citizens:
-
o for accidents caused by insured vehicles
normally based in Romania if the accident took place in an
EEA member state except the state where they live;

in the case of injured parties resident
in a Member State and entitled to compensation in respect of
any loss or injury resulting from accidents occurring in
third countries whose national insurer’s bureaux have joined
the Green Card system whenever such accidents are caused by
the use of vehicles insured and normally based in Romania if
the legislation of the state of accident allows the Romanian
Compensation Body to take action

if the guilty party is insured in
Romania or if the accident took place in Romania involving
an uninsured vehicle from a different state than the Member
States of the EEA;

the Romanian insurance undertaking of
the guilty party has failed to appoint a claims
representative in the Member State where the injured party
is resident
-
if, within 3 months the Romanian
insurance undertaking or its claims representative has not
provided a reasoned reply or has not compensated the injured
party
